As a Chinese-Australian who was born and raised in Australia, it was interesting to learn from the Director about the aesthetics and practices of somebody who is native to China. Given that the father character is a middle aged Chinese man who migrated to Australia a few decades ago, there were many insightful conversations between Notin and I on how to design his space to reflect his cultural identity. He is not fully Chinese, yet not fully Australian. What would this look like?
